SHORTCUTS,TRICKS,TIPS FOR QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE- RATIO AND PROPORTIONS

SHORTCUTS,TRICKS,TIPS FOR QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE- RATIO AND PROPORTIONS:

RATIO AND PROPORTIONS:

speed aptitude.com is known for SHORTCUTS,TRICKS,TIPS FOR RATIO AND PROPORTIONSQuick methods are very important and they play vital role in managing time in competitive exams like IBPS,SSC,RRB etc.by using fast methods we will solve problems in short time

Many of us do not know about speed methods and we usually adopt traditional way of solving, which leads time consumption. If we use these technics which I am going to explain in detail, will help extremely well. Many websites or blogs giving very lengthy process and they solve problems using X and Y instead of using quick methods

If we know  shortcuts, you can solve the problem with in seconds resulting saving of time, which leads to your success. If you use
SHORTCUTS FOR
RATIO AND PROPORTIONS, there is no need to use even pen or pencil to do calculation, that is the power of
shortcuts

SHORTCUTS for RATIO AND PROPORTIONS are nothing but common sense, rational thinking. Here we are giving the best TRICKS FOR RATIO AND PROPORTIONS which will helpful for students.I am going to explain TIPS  topic wise in detailed manner,so make use of this best opportunity

PROBLEMS ON RATIO AND PROPORTION:

An amount of Rs. 8,400 is distributed among A, Band C in the ratio of 1:2:4. The difference between the shares of A and C is?

1) Rs 4800  2) Rs 2400  3) Rs 1,200 4) Rs. 3,600          5) None of these

SOLUTION:Here we have to understand the problem first

"An amount of Rs. 8,400 is distributed among A, Band C in the ratio of 1:2:4."

Explanation:If we distribute the 8400 in any other ratio like 1:1:1 or 1:2:3,that 8400 should be equal to the sum of ratios.what i would like to say is what ever the ratio it is ,the total parts of ratio automatically equal to the amount, here that is 8400

There fore 1+2+4=7------------8400
The difference between the shares of A and C is 4-1=3
Total parts 7 we have to find 3 parts(diff of A,C)

if 7 parts are 8400 then 3 parts are equal to ?

7----8400

3-----?

we can do the above calculation in 2 ways

first method:By observing the relation between the numbers:

We have to search the relation between numbers in 2 ways

If we find the relation between 7 and 8400,we have to apply the same relation to 3 as below

The relation between 7 and 8400 is 1200 so apply the relation for 3

7*1200=8400

3*1200=3600

Second method: Common sense method

7----8400

3-----?

first we have to place the number which is above ? and then think about remaining two numbers 3 and 7,like

8400*___,which number is numerator or denominator, then apply common

sense

here 7 parts are equal to 8400 then we have to think "whether 3

parts are lesser or greater than 8400,definitely lesser is our answer.so

8400* lesser number/greater number as below

8400*3/7=3600 is our answer.

Advice: If u know the relation between the numbers well, apply first method otherwise apply second method.first method is quite fast than second

for applying first method we have to observe "whether the problem follows direct proportion or inverse proportion".

First method will work for directly proportion type problems only not for inverse proportion problems. For example

example:IF 10 men can do work in 20 days in  how many days 20 men can complete the same work?

10---20
20---?

If we use first method with out observing, wrong answer will come

10*2---20
15*2---30 it means if 10 men can do work in 20 days,15 can do it in 30 days, which is meaning less

so here we have to apply common sense method

place the number which is above ? that is 20 then think for numerator and
denominator

if 10 men can do work in 20 days ,generally 20 men can do the work in lesser time
 there fore 20*10/20=10 days

An amount of Rs. 7,200 is distributed among P,Q and R in the ratio of 2:7:3. The share of Q exceeds the share of P by?

1) Rs. 2,000          2) Rs. 3,000          3) Rs 1,500           4) Rs. 2,800          5) None of these

solution:Try yourself

Hint:The share of Q exceeds the share of P means diff between Q and P
Ans:2 that is 3000

An amount is distributed among P, Q and R in the ratio of 2:3:8. The difference between the shares of P and R is 2,400. What is the share of Q?

1) Rs. 1200           2) Rs.1800 3) Rs.1600  4) Rs. 2,400          5) None of these

solution:Try yourself

An amount is distributed among A, Band C in the ratio of 3:11:7. The share of B exceeds the share of C by Rs. 3,200. What is the share of A?

1) Rs. 4,200          2) Rs 2,400           3) Rs. 3,200          4) Rs. 4,800          5) None of these

 solution:Try yourself
